Betsy Zink

Betsy began her life overseas as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Kenya where she met her husband, Michael. They spent the next 28 years moving 14 times to 10 countries (Ivory Coast, Gabon, Tunisia, Russia, Australia, Indonesia, Korea, China and Singapore) while raising their four children. Along the way Betsy volunteered for many NGOs addressing local populations in projects ranging from maternal and child heath, to orphans, to artificial limbs for the handicapped. She held the position of Chair of Social Welfare for International Women Groups in three of those countries and was actively involved in the PTA of six international schools.

While living in Singapore Betsy obtained her Masters in Public Administration from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy. She used her degree to help open a Center for Unwed Mothers after qualifying to become a Birth and Postpartum Doula, Lactation Consultant and Childbirth Educator. The outstanding results led to the Center being used as a template for additional homes.

After repatriating to the United States Betsy focused on impacting local community by practicing as Birth and Postpartum Doula in a collective, and then running her own business. During COVID she obtained her Death Doula certification and pivoted to End of Life care and currently works to support Hospice clients with Home Care of the Rockies.

Betsy is Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of Kupona Foundation, which focuses on bringing best health care practices to the citizens of Tanzania. She is a member of the Travel Clinics team and a qualified Assessor for Project Cure in Denver. She is a certified cross-cultural trainer, a volunteer firefighter and enjoys travel, photography and the outdoors.
