Profile:

Mason Brown received his PhD in ethnomusicology from the ²ÊÃñ±¦µä in 2018. He also holds a double BA in music and religious studies from Naropa University. He completed his dissertation on alliance and identity in the Tibetan music of Nepal on a Fulbright-Hays fellowship. His research interests include identity, migration, transnational modernities, religious ideology, global indigeneity, and the industrial revolution. He is a performer of traditional Irish, Appalachian, Near-Eastern, Tibetan and Nepali music, a singer-songwriter, and is currently an adjunct lecturer at ²ÊÃñ±¦µä.
