Majoring in Psychology and MinoringÌýin ItalianÌý

Research Interests: I am interested in how the brain responds to addiction, depression, and body-image disorders. One area that I am especially passionate about is the long-term dependency on cannabis, and how that dependency affects the mind and body over time. I have observed adolescent cannabis substance disorders and have noted that many believe cannabis is not addictive despite their addiction and quality of mental health. I have volunteered at shelters for those experiencing homelessness and have served those who do not have a home and are not ready to seek treatment. I spent time in the common area of a shelter with many different clients who are all experiencing different situations including depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorders, substance abuse disorders, eating disorders, and grief. Psychology is growing, fascinating, and in demand. Upon graduation, I would like to attend a clinical psychology graduate school program. I believe my experience talking and helping others has strengthened me in pursuing psychology.Ìý

Responsibilities: I am an Independent Study undergraduate lab assistant aiding a graduate student with her thesis on Anti-fat Bias.

About me: I am from Phoenix, Arizona living in Colorado to enjoy the natural beauty. Similar to Arizona, Colorado is a diverse state. I enjoy being in nature especially hiking, trail running, and swimming. I swam on a club swim team most of my life and I read whatever I can get my hands. My current favorite book isÌýA Little LifeÌýby Hanya Yanagihara. I have recently returned from studying abroad in Italy for a semester. I love traveling to new places with my friends!Ìý
