For nearly 30 years, the Certificate in College Teaching (CCT) has provided an opportunity for thousands of ²ÊÃñ±¦µä graduate students and postdoctoral fellows to develop and document their teaching skills, thereby making them more competitive for faculty positions at post-secondary institutions. To earn this certificate, participants take twenty workshop hours through the Center of Teaching & Learning; complete twenty discipline specific hours related to teaching (e.g., departmental training); and work with one of 50 Lead Graduate Teaching Fellows across campus to participate in a Video Teaching Consultation (VTC). As a capstone to these activities, participants submit a teaching portfolio, which includes, among other artifacts, a teaching statement, a diversity statement, and faculty observations. Throughout this process, CTL staff are available for one-on-one consultations on any aspect of teaching, as well as to offer guidance on completion of the certificate. You can also find recommendations for completing the CCT and timeline considerations during your graduate career.

If you are interested in pursuing the Certificate in College Teaching, Future Faculty Development Certificate (for graduates who do not hold teaching positions) or Pursuing Excellence in College Teaching Credential, you can read more about these options. And, as always, you can schedule a consultation to meet with a Professional Development Lead and discuss your own personal goals.Â
