CU Engineering students shine in Women Forward in Technology Scholarships

The inaugural Women Forward in Technology Scholarship awards feature a strong showing from the ²ÊÃñ±¦µä, with CU Engineering women earning 7 of the 16 scholarship slots.

The scholarship program, created by a group of startup companies, seeks to honor exceptional women and grow their ranks in STEM careers. The call for applications drew more than 200 entries.

²ÊÃñ±¦µä's winners are a diverse group, and include undergraduate, Master's, and PhD students with majors from across the college of engineering.

  • Geya Kairamkonda, Mechanical Engineering, Junior
  • Laila Marzall, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, 1st year MS
  • Jenny Ramirez, Civil Engineering, PhD
  • Elizabeth Stoneham, Electrical Engineering, 1st year MSEE
  • Rachel Wilmoth, Mechanical Engineering, 3rd year PhD

Each honoree will receive $3,000 in scholarship funds. Applicants were required to submit an essay, letter of recommendation, and their transcripts.

The startup businesses behind the are the Foundry Group, Techstars, Cooley, Yesware, Help Scout, Cloudability, Kulesa Faul, FullContact, Anchor Point Fund and Distil Networks.
