CU NSBE Letter to Incoming Students
Dear Incoming Buffs,
I hope this email finds you safe and well! I am writing to welcome you to ²ÊÃñ±¦µä’s chapter of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE). Our mission is to increase the number of culturally responsible Black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally, and positively impact the community.
We are thrilled to see your faces after a long year of remote learning. I want to invite you to our kickoff event for the year on August 26, 6-7 p.m.in the BOLD Center. This will be a great opportunity to meet our executive board, network with other engineers and learn about how you can get involved in NSBE. There will also be food provided. This year, we have many exciting events planned ranging from professional development nights with a variety of companies, to fun social activities such as sports tournaments.
As a freshman, connecting with upperclassmen through NSBE not only gave me an advantage when it came to selecting classes and professors, but it also introduced me to a group of people I am proud to call my best friends! I encourage you to join our and follow us on to stay updated on all things NSBE. If you want to gain leadership experience, NSBE is seeking additional talent for its executive board! I would love to bring on a freshman to be our TORCH Chair. Please email me at ahmed.ashmaig@colorado.edu if you are interested. NSBE and I look forward to meeting you all this Fall!
Best,
Ahmed Ashmaig, President of NSBE
