Symposium for Sustainable Infrastructure - Envision Training Student Scholarships Available

The Colorado Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), University of Colorado – Boulder, College of Engineering and Applied Science, Colorado Chapter of the American Public Works Association (APWA), the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure and affiliated members of the Colorado Higher Education and Sustainability Professionals community are planning a Symposium for Sustainable Infrastructure 2, to be held on the campus of the University of Colorado at Boulder on November 3 and 4, 2017.

Infrastructure is an essential component of national economic competitiveness and social well-being. Designing and delivering infrastructure systems that truly contribute to sustainability throughout their service life is the theme of this full-day symposium.

The 2017 Symposium will provide a limited number of scholarships for student participants towards covering the majority of the cost of the second day of the event – which will be devoted to training in the use of one of the nation’s premier sustainability evaluation systems, known as ENVISION.  It is expected that professionals, faculty members and students will be registering for this training. It is anticipated that a total of 20 scholarships with a value of approximately $135 each will be awarded to qualifying upper division and graduate students.  We are asking students to pay only a $10 registration fee for the ENVISION training. Attached to this email announcement is an application for students to fill out.  Applications must be emailed to ssicolorado@gmail.com.  The deadline for email submittal of applications for ENVISION scholarships is July 31, 2017.   Students will be notified of the outcome of their application by August 15, 2017, to allow early registration for the event

Rich Horstmann has been coordinating the scholarships and sent out an initial notice (first call) awhile ago. It was indeed early on but no CU students applied. We have set the submittal date for the Summer Call for July 15, 2017. The second call notice and application are attached. There will be third call in the Fall (if there are scholarships still available). We will award scholarships for the second call applicants on August 15 to deserving Junior, Senior and graduate students.,
