Lifespan Cluster Hire Tenure-Track Assistant Professor Position
The College of Arts & Sciences at ²ÊÃñ±¦µä invites applications for three (3) tenure-track faculty at the level of Assistant Professor in diverse areas of lifespan physiology. Our goal is to co-recruit junior faculty with synergistic interests to build interdepartmental connections via cellular/molecular, physiological, and behavioral neuroscience. Candidates will be hired into an appropriate department (Psychology & Neuroscience (PSYC/NRSC); Integrative Physiology (IPHY); Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology (MCDB), with additional possible connections to Institutes and Centers. Each department brings their own distinctive scholarly strengths: 1) reproduction, development, and aging for IPHY; 2) neural basis of behavior and tools to image and manipulate the brain for PSYC/NRSC, and 3) neurodevelopment and neurological disorders using cellular and molecular technologies for MCDB. Underlying these themes is an emphasis on genetics from model systems to human, mechanistic foundations of neurocognition during fetal and adolescent development to adult, and advanced imaging technologies and manipulation of brain development and wiring. We encourage cutting edge and collaborative research that transcends traditional disciplinary boundaries.
Starting salaries are expected to fall within the posted range of $95,000-$120,000 (9-month salary) depending upon accomplishments including publication record, external funding, years of experience in comparable faculty positions, and discipline. The start-up package is negotiable, and the candidate may be eligible for moving expenses.
Applicants are required to hold a doctoral degree (PhD, MD/PhD, or DPhil) in a life science discipline which includes, but is not limited to, neuroscience, biology, genetics, psychology and physiology. Accomplishments during graduate and postgraduate training should have stamped the candidate as a creative and promising investigator. If the individual does not have formal teaching experience, they should have demonstrated a commitment to develop the skills for first rate teaching. The appointed individuals are expected to establish an independent, externally funded research program and contribute to departmental teaching and mentoring of the next generation of scientists in order to earn tenure.
The ²ÊÃñ±¦µä is committed to building a culturally diverse community of faculty, staff, and students dedicated to contributing to an inclusive campus environment. We are an equal opportunity employer, including veterans and individuals with disabilities. The cohort will be offered structured mentorship and sponsorship that will empower their scientific and professional development and facilitate their social and cultural integration into our larger University of Colorado scientific community.
Applicants should submit a cover letter, CV, a statement of research and teaching interests, an optional statement on enhancing diverse perspective, 3 sample research papers, and names and contact information for 3 professional references. References will be requested at a later stage in the process. Application materials are accepted electronically at . Application review will begin November 1, 2024.
