Are you currently authorized for post-completion OPT? Review the following reporting requirements:

  1. While authorized for post-completion OPT, you are still in F-1 status. Immigration regulations require you to report changes regarding employment status, employer, address, name, citizenship, and contact information within 10 days of the change. During your OPT authorization period, you should report these changes in the .
  2. A student in F-1 status who has been approved for post-completion OPT and is in the employment authorization period will receive an email from do-not-reply.SEVP@ice.dhs.gov with information about creating an .

    • If you do not receive the SEVP email and are in an approved period of post-completion OPT, please submit the SEVP Portal Account Help: Email Address Update/Account Reset e-form (available in MyISSS portal under “Training/Employment-Related Forms”).

    • Review the for additional resources (e.g., user guide, instructional videos).
  3. When you start your first job on post-completion OPT, enter that employment into the to stop your unemployment days (90 total) from accruing.
  4. After you complete your employment entry into the SEVP Portal, please submit the Post-Completion OPT Information Update and Relevance Statement e-form (available in MyISSS portal under “Training/Employment-Related Forms”).
    • ISSS will email you an updated I-20 that includes your employer and a new travel signature.
  5. In the future, if you change employers while on post-completion OPT, do not delete the previous employer you listed unless a duplicate was entered in error. Report a subsequent employer in the SEVP Portal and then complete a new Post-Completion OPT Information Update and Relevance Statement e-form (available in MyISSS portal under “Training/Employment-Related Forms”).
