Kian Lopez is a first year Ph.D. student who joined the ²ÊÃñ±¦µä in Fall 2020. He received a B.S in Chemical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin where he worked on the synthesis and transport properties of ion exchange membranes. He is currently working on testing the effects of fouling on novel hydrophobic membranes to be used in water reuse and desalination applications. He typically spends his free time running, backpacking, boxing, climbing, and cooking.
