An update from the field!
Despite operating on a smaller scale than usual (to avoid COVID-19 spread), the second year of the Boulder Chickadee Study is going strong with almost 50 nests! Cori, master data wrangler, has managed nearly 1200 data submissions from community scientists on chickadee breeding, Kathryn is in the midst of banding chicks in Boulder, where we have both black-capped and mountain chickadees, and Vanessa has started provisioning and arthropod surveys in Boulder. In a couple of weeks, we'll shift our focus to higher elevations as spring progresses up the mountain. Check out the Boulder Chickadee Study tab to stay up to date on how many nests and eggs we are finding this season!
