MechE students,
Halfway through the fall semester, theÌýreturn to campusÌýcontinues to be remarkable. I am reenergized each day by the presence of students in the classroom. With various public health measures still in place, we are very fortunate to be in Boulder, where we can teach andÌýengage with one anotherÌýoutside in the beautiful fall air.
I also want to commend the work everyone is doing toÌýcelebrate diversityÌý²¹²Ô»åÌýimprove equity within the department, including the growingÌýME Partnership Programs. I look forward to seeing those efforts flourish in the coming years. The more mechanical engineers we have solving society’s challenges, the better.
Sincerely,
Mike Hannigan

The Return to Campus: A renewed energy in the Department of Mechanical Engineering
If there was a mantra for fall 2021 in the Paul M. Rady Department of Mechanical Engineering, everyone would be saying ‘it’s good to be back.’ The ²ÊÃñ±¦µä has welcomed students back to campus, allowing ME faculty to bring back traditional hands-on labs and classes for the first time in nearly two years.
