As part of the College of Music's long-running Faculty Tuesdays series, professional musicians, vocalists and ensembles in the college play concerts most Tuesdays during the fall and spring semesters, offering students and community members the opportunity to experience firsthand the renowned talent housed right here on campus.Â
Horn performance + pedagogy student ready for fall after whirlwind spring and summer
Not only did DMA candidate Valerie Sly win Third Horn position with the Des Moines Metro Opera, she also recently nailed the runner-up spot for the Fort Worth Symphony’s Principal Horn position, earned a finalist spot for the United States Navy Band in Washington, D.C. and was invited to return to the Lucerne Festival Academy.
