Mental health resources for students

mental health

Our students have been through a lot this semester. It’s normal for them to experience feelings of anxiety, depression, anger, uncertainty or conflict at home. If you notice that your student may be struggling emotionally, there are resources on campus that can help.Ìý

CAPS provides a number of virtual services for students, including telehealth counseling appointments, workshops and more. Students can meet with a CAPS counselor by calling 303-492-2277 to set up a drop-in appointment. They can also speak to a counselor through e-Let’s Talk, a free service where students can check in via telehealth for an informal and confidential consultation with a counselor.

CAPS counselors can help provide insight, solutions and information about additional resources. Students commonly visit with concerns about stress, sadness, worry, relationships, academic performance, family issues and financial struggles.

CAPS also provides 24/7 crisis support at 303-492-2277. If you think your student may be in immediate danger, please call 911.

OVA provides free and confidential information, consultation, support, advocacy and short term counseling services to students, faculty and staff who have experienced a traumatic, disturbing or disruptive life event. All services provided are free and confidential. Students can call 303-492-8855 to make an appointment or access after-hours phone support.Ìý

OVA counselors can help address a number of issues, including sexual harassment and assault, intimate partner abuse, domestic violence, stalking, bias, discrimination, physical assault, harrassment, hazing, serious accidents, natural disasters and more.Ìý Family members can also call to discuss how to support their students and learn more about options.

The CU Rec Center is offering free virtual activities through the end of July to help students stay active, practice mindfulness and improve their mental and physical health. Students can join pre-recorded and live fitness classes, compete in Intramural Sports competitions and follow guided meditations. The Rec also has a variety of free resources available to students, staff, faculty and community members.
