Late twentieth-century Japan materials

For this lesson, you will need images of Astro Boy, to be projected or displayed in class. You  may also display other creations of Osamu Tezuka, whose work is widely available;  segments of the anime versions even appear on YouTube. Good sources of an image of Astro Boy include, in roughly declining order of usefulness:

  •  Takarabako, no. 13 (September 2007).

  •  (Melbourne, Australia: National Gallery of Victoria, 2006).

  •  Wired (May 31, 2007).
