John is iSAT鈥檚 Lead Software Designer and Architect. His work focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining core infrastructure to support AI Partners, including technologies and data storage in the Amazon cloud, CU鈥檚 Research Computing and local compute resources. As part of his work, John manages a team of developers creating data processing pipelines that analyze audio, video, web interaction, and other data streams to characterize student collaboration and teamwork and developing the AI Partner software systems in the cloud.聽
Before joining iSAT, John led the development of digital libraries, ed-tech applications, and e-learning software systems for K-12 and undergraduate STEM education. He has created adaptive learning technologies, curriculum customization tools, concept map visualizations, and platforms for Open Educational Resources (OER) metadata infrastructure and dissemination. In his free time, he enjoys spending time outdoors cycling, hiking, and skiing, and traveling to places far and wide.聽
