In collaboration with Alaska Pacific University and theÌýUniversity of Alaska Fairbanks, ²ÊÃñ±¦µä is cohostingÌýthe initiative,Ìýwhich uses convergence research to address andÌýmitigate climate-change-related challenges in the rapidlyÌýchanging Arctic.

The Community Office is led by Matthew DruckenmillerÌýfrom the atÌý²ÊÃñ±¦µä.

Funded by the NSF for five years, the Community OfficeÌýsupports the goals of the Navigating the New ArcticÌýinitiative by focusing on co-production of knowledgeÌýwith Indigenous peoples, convergence research,Ìýculturally responsive education and outreach, andÌýopen science. The Community Office also works toÌýincrease recognition of Indigenous knowledge and dataÌýsovereignty, and to promote inclusive and collaborativeÌýresearch design and implementation.
