Ecology and evolutionary biology
The department of ecology and evolutionary biology (EBIO) at the ²ÊÃñ±¦µä has undertaken the process of sustained transformation in three arenas of undergraduate biology education:
- Course design and execution
- Assessments of teaching and learning
- Faculty professional development
Course transformation has focused on defining "core ideas," explicitly addressing process skills and introducing active-learning activities, using clickers and case studies, that engage higher-order cognition and metacognition.
