Getting Started in the Division of Student Affairs
Welcome to the Division of Student Affairs at ²ÊÃñ±¦µä, we are so excited for you to join our team! Here are a few important steps about getting started!
Before your first day
Your is your ²ÊÃñ±¦µä login and password and will be used to access many of our systems. .
Section 1: Check your email! You will be receiving an email from HireRight with information on how to complete section one of your eligibility verification.
Section 2: Stop by the Student Affairs HR office located in the Center for Community in S360. Our office is open M-F from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Be sure to bring when you come in. Complete this step after your start date.
Check your email for an email from ²ÊÃñ±¦µä Jobs. They will be requesting additional information like your date of birth and social security number to get you entered into our systems.
Submit a headshot photo to boc@colorado.edu for your Buff OneCard, which serves as your employee ID.
- In the subject line please use the following format: First Name, Last Name – New Hire Photo
- JPEG format is preferred but other formats can be used
- The photo should be against a white background
- No hat or sunglasses in the photo
Employee Parking
If you want to purchase campus parking, visit the parking and transportation website, log into their , and choose from the permit/lot options available. Follow these step by step instructions. For long-term parking, employees should select the Employee: Standard Parking option. Eligible frontline employees will choose the Employee: Frontline Discounted Parking option. For specific parking questions, please reach out to the parking and transportation office at 303-735- PARK (7275) or Parking@colorado.edu. We are a large campus with a lot of parking options, prior to your first day check in with your supervisor on where it would be best for you to park. If you don't purchase parking before your first day, you may need to pay to park at a meter if you choose to park on campus your first day.
After your first day
Also, please note the following important information for your employment after your start date. Once you have your CU Identikey and password set up you will be able to access the following in your MyCUInfo login here.
Once you have started, you can set up direct deposit. .
You will be able to access your pay stub in . You will be paid the last business day of each month. .
You can verify and your W4 in the MyCUInfo portal. .
Review benefit information
Your benefits will be effective the first of the month after your start date. You will have 31 days from your start date to sign up or waive your benefits. If you have specific questions on benefits, you can call Employee Services at 303-860-4200, option #3 to speak to a benefit professional.
Complete required training
Employees are required to complete these two trainings. Your supervisor will advise you of any additional required training.

Learn about leave
Full-time university staff will accrue vacation at a rate of 14.67/hours per month and accrue sick time at a rate of 10/hours per month. Part-time university staff earn vacation/sick on a prorated basis. Please note that you will need to earn the hours prior to being able to use the time. Track your time
Your supervisor will train you on how to track your leave. ²ÊÃñ±¦µä uses two time keeping systems, so please work with your supervisor for specific instructions on the system you will use and how to track your time and make time off requests. Make sure to work with your supervisor prior to working overtime if you are eligible for overtime.
Student Affairs New Employee Orientation
This training provides new Student Affairs employees with useful information about the division and resources for staff. There will be opportunities to ask questions and connect with other new staff members. New staff should plan to attend a New Employee Orientation session within the first quarter of their start date in the Division of Student Affairs.
Complete a work agreement (hybrid/remote staff only)
Staff working in a hybrid or remote work modality are required to have an approved work agreement within 30 days after their start date. Agreements to work in a hybrid modality must be agreed to and signed by the staff member and their supervisor. Agreements to work in a remote modality must be agreed to and signed by the faculty or staff member, their supervisor and their officer-level leadership position (e.g. dean or vice chancellor-level department head). Your supervisor will initiate the form.
Register for QuickStart
The virtual QuickStart program will provide you with the tools and resources for getting set up quickly at ²ÊÃñ±¦µä. Sessions are held most Mondays from 9-10:30 a.m. and you should attend within your first two weeks.
