Games Played While Lying Down: a Thesis Showing

In Games Played While Lying Down Sarah Mauney seeks to challenge the preconceived notions her audiences might hold of what a “good mother” looks like, acts like, and how she expresses her emotions around mothering. Being a mother is joyous and tedious, isolating and tethering, alienating and endearing; Sarah has captured the complexities of her experience in four sections, working with objects that provide both a limitation and increased possibility.
