Released Monday evening in U.S. News & World Report’s annual Best Colleges undergraduate rankings for 2017, the ranks No. 38 in the nation among public institutions, or No. 92 overall – including public, private and for-profit universities –in the country.
The data represent long-standing marks of excellence from the publication both in undergraduate and graduate-level academics, a showcase of ’s offerings.
In other Best Colleges highlights from U.S. News & World Report, ’s undergraduate business program at the landed the No. 21 spot among public universities, or 32nd overall. This is up from No. 22 among public institutions and No. 34 overall for 2016.
Also, ’s undergraduate engineering program at the comes in at 18th among public institutions whose highest degree is a doctorate, or 32nd overall. This is up from No. 21 among public institutions and No. 36 overall for 2016.
Within engineering,updated rankings on Tuesday place (for aerospace engineering) in the No. 8 spot among public institutions and No. 12 spot overall; and (forchemical engineering) in the No. 12 spot among public institutions and No. 18 spot overall. The chemical engineering ranking is up fromNo. 13 among public institutions, orNo. 20 overall, for 2016.
The list of Best Colleges for Veterans places at No. 27 among public universities nationally, or No. 59 among all universities nationally. These are the top institutions offering benefits to help make college education more affordable for military veterans and active-duty service members.
U.S. News & World Report rankings are based on measures of academic peer assessment, graduation and retention rates, faculty resources, student selectivity, financial resources and alumni giving. “National Universities” are the 310 institutions – 189 public, 114 private and seven for-profit institutions – that offer a wide range of undergraduate majors as well as master’s and doctoral degrees; some emphasize research.
