The second annual Diverse Learners Awareness Week, Feb. 20 through Feb. 24, is a time for the ²ÊÃñ±¦µä to celebrate the diversity of ways in which people learn. This year's focus is diversity in the classroom.Ìý
By celebrating our rich diversity of learners, ²ÊÃñ±¦µäÌýdeepens itsÌýcommitment to fully-accessible learning spacesÌýand inclusive excellence.ÌýÌýpromotes an all-encompassing definition of diversity that includes the full spectrum of persons with disabilities, from physical to cognitive impairment, as well as other aspects of diversity including race, gender, sexual orientation, class, size, age, religious affiliation, national origin and culture.
Diverse Learners Awareness Week is intended to help attendeesÌýbuild the sensitivity and skills to become an effective advocate for diversity in learning. From using assistive technologies and strategies for organizing information to shaping your own academic path through independent study, weÌýwantÌýyou toÌýbe involved in sharing the unique ways you learn and play at CU.
