Post-survey, Foundations of Excellence committee shares response rates
The Foundations of Excellence initiative is a campuswide effort focused on assessing and improving the first-year undergraduate experience. The Office of Undergraduate Education would like to thank faculty, staff and students for taking part in the recently completed Foundations of Excellence surveys and student focus groups, which asked about such items as students' sense of belonging, meeting academic and social needs, and psychological and physical safety.
The first-year student response rate was nearly 15 percent, while 28 percent of faculty and staff responded to the online surveys exploring knowledge of and satisfaction with current first-year experiences.
Committees are in the process of evaluating the survey data and also assessing policies and programs that affect the quality of the Boulder first-year student experience. They’re on target to produce committee reports in February, culminating in a final report with recommendations to Provost Russ Moore at the beginning of April.
