The center is dedicated to supporting faculty members, postdocs and graduate students, and ensuring they make successful transitions throughout their careers, according to Robert Boswell, vice chancellor for the Office of Diversity, Equity and Community Engagement (ODECE).
“This is a great opportunity for our campus community to reap the benefits of a nationally recognized professional development community for those working in higher education,” Boswell said. “I encourage all faculty members, postdocs and graduate students to avail themselves of these resources, which will support career success in academia and more mindful and inclusive teaching practices within our community.”

Through the NCFDD, members can receive access to the center’s full core curriculum, guest expert webinars, intensive multiweek courses facilitated by national experts, a private discussion forum and monthly writing challenges.
Among the center’s offerings are a weekly motivational email called Monday Motivator; a core curriculum designed to teach members how to thrive on and off campus; and a Dissertation Success Program for doctoral candidates who are focused on completing their dissertations.
