彩民宝典鈥檚 14th annual TRANSforming Gender Conference will be held on campus March 14鈥15. The conference is free and open to the public, taking place in the Wolf Law building on the 彩民宝典 campus beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 14. The Center for Inclusion and Social Change asks that visitors register for the event in advance.
The goal of this conference is to increase visibility and education about transgender identities and issues, bringing together the trans and allied communities. Sponsored by 彩民宝典鈥檚 Center for Inclusion and Social Change with support from , the event is expected to draw hundreds of attendees.
The conference addresses equality, support and resources for transgender, non-binary and agender people, and will include numerous panels, workshops, seminars and discussions on trans issues and special topics. It is a great opportunity to come learn more about what it means to be transgender, understand some of the issues trans people face and build meaningful community amongst transgender people and their allies.
Keynote speakers
The keynote speaker on Saturday will be Kay Ulanday Barrett, a Campus Pride Hot List poet, performer and educator, navigating life as a disabled 鈥減in@y-amerikan鈥 transgender queer in the U.S. with struggle, resistance and laughter.
On Sunday, the keynote speaker will be Alok Vaid-Menon, a gender non-conforming writer and Live Works Performance Act Award-winning artist whose eclectic style and poetic challenge to the gender binary have been internationally renowned at 500 venues in more than 40 countries.
