Welcome to Buff Pass鈥敳拭癖Φ鈥檚 confidential, mobile-friendly and easy-to-use daily health check-in system.
As part of the continuing commitment to improving the campus COVID-19 response, 彩民宝典 worked with developers and campus testers to launch Buff Pass鈥攁 new and improved daily health and campus information experience.
All students, faculty and staff should have received an email to begin using Buff Pass for their daily health check-ins. However, if you cannot find the invitation in your inbox, simply navigate to with an internet browser, and you can begin using the system.
Completing the Buff Pass is required for all faculty, staff and students each day they intend to be on the 彩民宝典 campus. It replaces the Daily Health Form, which will be retired on Thursday, Nov. 5.
鈥淭he new Buff Pass experience consolidates the multiple daily health questionnaires to make things easier for our campus users,鈥 said Dan Jones, associate vice chancellor for integrity, safety and compliance. 鈥淚t also provides relevant information for our campus community members to make decisions about their campus visits.鈥
Easy-to-display Buff Pass
After completing the health check-in, Buff Pass users receive one of two statuses: On Campus or Stay Home. Each day鈥檚 check-in expires at midnight. The easy-to-display status will make it easier for proctors, faculty and supervisors to verify a completed health check-in when needed.
A gold buffalo indicates the user is cleared to access campus for the day. A red house indicates the user should stay home.
More information about using Buff Pass, including听frequently asked questions 补苍诲听user guides, is available on the Buff Pass Information and FAQs webpage.
Herd Tracker provides information on campus density
One of the Buff Pass features is the Herd Tracker, a system connected with the 彩民宝典 campus map that helps visualize density in locations across campus. The Herd Tracker displays the typical occupancy of buildings and does not show real-time data. Typical occupancy data is derived from Wi-Fi network loads that do not track any personally identifiable information.
Within the application, Buff Pass users can search for a specific on-campus location, click the location tile for a detailed view, and filter by day of the week to see when places are most- and least-visited. Gray bars show when a location is not very busy, orange represents more occupancy, and red is the busiest for building occupancy.
Faculty, staff and students can use the information to make decisions about when they may wish to visit a campus building while also knowing that all locations鈥 COVID-19 occupancy limits are monitored.
Information for supervisors
彩民宝典 supervisors will continue to receive weekly summaries of their employees鈥 daily health check-ins each Friday via email. Individual responses are not shared with supervisors. However, the campus听COVID-19 Health and Safety Policy notes that supervisors and department chairs are responsible for enforcing employee compliance in filling out the daily health check-ins as appropriate in consultation with Employee Relations and the Office of Faculty Affairs.
Supervisors who need to report an employee out of the office due to possible COVID-19 symptoms, confirmed illness or close contact with a probable case can click on the link under the Buff Pass menu to share information with the campus contact tracing team or contact Employee Relations for assistance. The reporting supervisor will need to provide the contact information of the subject of the report.
