Dwinita 鈥淣ita鈥 Mosby Tyler, founder of The Equity Project, LLC鈥攁 consulting firm supporting organizations and communities in building diversity, equity and inclusion strategies鈥攚ill give the May 6 livestreamed commencement address.

Dwinita 鈥淣ita鈥 Mosby TylerIn her work, Mosby Tyler is nationally recognized for her specialization in the development and delivery of leadership, equity, diversity, cultural responsiveness and inclusiveness training programs and strategies for clients including UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital, Aurora听and Denver police departments, the city and county of Denver, among numerous others.

鈥淭he class of 2021 was honored to nominate Dr. Dwinita 鈥淣ita鈥 Mosby Tyler because of her countless accomplishments and contributions to our state,鈥 said Angeline Mccarty Lee, diversity and inclusion liaison with the Senior Class Council, which is tasked with choosing the commencement speaker. 鈥淪he has dedicated her life to leadership, service听and inspiring others to do the same. I could think of no better role model for CU students to learn from as they embark on their future.鈥

Mosby Tyler is also author of the book White People Really Love Salad: What My Childhood Taught Me About Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, where she explores the effect social climates, race relations, stereotypes, education systems and parenting had in shaping her perspectives. She is former senior vice president and chief inclusion officer for Children鈥檚 Hospital Colorado.

Commencement

The May 6 livestreamed commencement ceremony will begin at noon MDT.听Individual college, school and department virtual ceremonies will follow.

In addition, as part of Grad Appreciation Days, students are invited to attend several in-person opportunities leading up to the virtual commencement events.听Watch for more details on campus celebrations and events coming soon for Class of 2020 and Class of 2021.听These in-person events will be for graduating students only. Families and friends will not be able to attend. All in-person opportunities will follow the campus Events & Activities Policy.听
