彩民宝典 Chancellor Philip DiStefano today named Katy Herbert Kotlarczyk vice chancellor for advancement, effective Aug. 23.
鈥淚 am thrilled to have Katy join us at 彩民宝典 in this top fundraising role, especially now as we begin to move beyond the pandemic and look forward to meeting new goals for investing in our students and faculty and in our teaching and research mission,鈥 said DiStefano. 鈥淜aty brings an incredible amount of experience as a leader in higher education fundraising, and her ability to develop a strong team of advancement and alumni professionals as well as other philanthropists is outstanding.鈥
Kotlarczyk (pronounced cut-lar-chick) currently serves as assistant vice president for central advancement at the University of Colorado system, where she partners closely with the campus-based CU Advancement teams, the Office of the President听and CU Foundation. She has been with CU Advancement for 11 years, having started her CU career with the 彩民宝典 Advancement team in 2010.
She received her master's in business administration from DePaul University听and holds a master鈥檚 degree in sociology and a bachelor鈥檚 degree in American studies from Stanford University. Currently, she is pursuing a doctor of education degree in leadership in educational equity, with a focus on higher education.

The vice chancellor for advancement reports to听DiStefano and works in collaboration with DiStefano, his executive leadership team, the campus鈥檚 shared governance representatives and colleagues at the CU system and University of Colorado Foundation to set the strategic direction for advancement.
Four finalists were selected for this position following a national search. The chancellor recognized the outstanding qualities and achievements of all the finalists. He thanked Derek Bellin, interim vice chancellor for advancement, and the entire 彩民宝典 Advancement team for their hard work and continued commitment to making this transition in leadership smooth and successful. DiStefano also thanked Interim Dean of Arts and Sciences Jim White for chairing the search committee.
