EDM producer will headline the 2022 WelcomeFest concert taking place Saturday, Aug. 20, on Farrand Field. Also slated to perform are, and local artists Don Jamal and Chaysn. The annual WelcomeFest is part of Fall Welcomeand is sponsored by Program Council.

Doors are scheduled to open at 5:30 p.m., with music beginning at 6 p.m. Admission is free to all 񱦵 students who provide theirBuff OneCard at wristband locations, including first-year students, transfer students, returning students, graduate studentsand law students.

Wristbands will be distributed between Farrand Hall and Farrand Field starting at noon on Aug.20. Additionally, a second wristband location will open up at 4 p.m. between the Warner Imig Music Building and Wardenburg Health Center. Wristbands are needed for entry to the event. No re-entry will be allowed once attendees enter the venue and leave.

Flux Pavilion

Flux Pavilion is a British EDM producer/DJ from Towcester, England. His use of beats has been received positively by many companies and music artists. American rappers Kanye West and Jay-Z sampled his song “I can’t stop” in their song “Who gon stop me.” The same year, he was nominated for Sound of 2012 by the BBC.

Artists such as Steve Aioki and Rosie Oddie have been featured on songs within his albums as well. Additionally, the company Walt Disney had him remix the theme to the animated seriesStar Wars Rebels. Flux has performed his music at well-known festivals across the world, including Coachella, EDC Las Vegas, Glastonburyand Reading.

What to expect

Attendees can expect airport-like security. No bags larger than 4.5” x 6.5” will be allowed; all bags within this size range will be subject to search. Additional event policies include no skateboards, no weapons (including concealed carry), no professional photography or videography, no alcohol or illegal drugs, and no glass or metal water bottles.

Empty plastic water bottles are allowed, as are factory-sealed, unopened plastic or aluminum single-use non-alcoholic beverages. Water bottle refill stations will be available at the event.
