This weekend brings a fiery yoga session, extreme bowling, a neighborhood block party, a fall volunteer opportunity, a city council chat, an opportunity to explore the solar system and more.

Friday, Sept. 30

   5:30–8:30 p.m.    Arrowood Park 
Community members and students that are currently living on or considering a future home in the East Aurora neighborhood are invited to a free block party at Arrowwood Park, sponsored by Student Affairs. This tucked-away event will have free food from local favorites Illegal Pete’s and Sweet Cow, games, crafts and more.

   6–7 p.m.    Rec Center, Mind Body Studio
Stay centered and focused through all of life’s challenges. This free yoga session helps you pull from your inner strength and confidence. No experience is necessary.

   7–10 p.m.    UMC, The Connection
Bowling is fun for everyone! Visit the UMC this Friday (or Saturday) for a fun night of extreme bowling. Enjoy a night with black lights, colored lights and colored pins!

   8 p.m.    CHEM 140
Join Program Council for a screening of the hit horror/sci-fi film Nope, starring Keke Palmer and Daniel Kaluuya and directed by Jordan Peele. The film involves two siblings running a horse ranch and discovering something wonderful and sinister in the skies above.


Saturday, Oct. 1

   8 a.m.–8 p.m.    Yellow Barn Farms 
Join the Environmental Center’s Climate Justice Team and help make the Harvest of All First Nations Festival zero-waste! Volunteers will help sort trash and organize zero-waste efforts. for a four-hour time slot. 

   10 a.m.–noon    CU South, Table Mesa Drive
Would you like to engage with Boulder’s elected officials? This Saturday, community members are welcome to have a meaningful conversation with a city council member. Use your voice to discuss the issues that matter the most. 

   7–8 p.m.    Fiske Planetarium 
It is NASA’s international observe the moon night! In celebration, Fiske Planetarium is hosting a new full-dome film,Forward to the Moon. In the film, Kari Byron from Mythbusters takes viewers on a journey beyond Earth. 


Sunday, Oct. 2

Free student recital

   2 p.m.    Imig Music, Grusin Music Hall (C112)
Future stars are on stage at ²ÊÃñ±¦µä! This Sunday, there is a free doctoral recital with Derek Stoughton and wind conducting. 

   2:30–3:30 p.m.    Fiske Planetarium
