Hey, Buffs! September is wrapping up, so don’t forget to take advantage of all the fun events campus has to offer.

This week brings a virtual cook-along, “No Hard Feelings” with free popcorn, the State of the Campus address, succulent planting, Barcelona study abroad info, a pasta bar, a Pink Floyd laser show, a football pregame and more.

How long have you been staring at that document? It can help to have a fresh set of eyes take a look at your work. Get your resume reviewed by a Career Services staff member at this drop-in event. Don’t forget your laptop so you can make changes as needed.

On the first and fourth Monday of each month, the Center for Inclusion and Social Change hosts Bring Your Own Gender (BYOG). The group supports transgender, nonbinary, gender-questioning and gender-creative students.

Annually, our chancellor addresses the state of campus. This year, he plans to highlight the importance of a four-year degree and discuss how CU is setting students up for success. Following the speech, enjoy a free buffet breakfast. Join in person or .

Hazing is a harmful practice unfortunately experienced at many universities. Stop by to learn how to recognize signs of hazing and what to do about it.  

  4–5 p.m.    UMC 382
Make your money go further with budgeting and saving techniques. During this presentation, The city of Boulder and Elevations Credit Union will teach students how to create a budget that aligns with their income. 

Wednesday, Sept. 27

  2–4 p.m.    Wardenburg
Plants can make a room feel like a home. Attend this week’s Wellness Wednesday session for succulent planting and information about on-campus resources. 

  4–5 p.m.    C4C, S350 
Have you ever considered studying abroad? Barcelona, Spain, is considered a trendy hub for culture, fashion and food. This session will give students more information on this amazing opportunity. 

  5–10 p.m.    The Connection
“Let's-a go!” It’s time for a Super Smash Bros tournament at The Connection, hosted by CU Gaming. Sign-up starts at 4 p.m. at The Connection front desk.

Thursday, Sept. 28

Get involved with CMCI: This involvement fair showcases all of the student media organizations and other groups the college has to offer. 

  5–6 p.m.   Virtual
Work on your cooking skills this week with a free, virtual cook-along! Using ingredients from the Buff Pantry, students will learn how to make a simple meal. This time, vegan refried bean tostadas are on the menu. There will also be an immersion blender giveaway. ​

  6:30–7:30 p.m.    Rec Center, meet in Fit Well Suite
This event, held in partnership with Disability Services, will teach you how to incorporate adaptive training into your cardio, strength and stretching routines. Participants will have the opportunity to work with staff and receive personalized guidance.

  8–10 p.m.    Kitt Central multipurpose rooms 
Spend your evening painting with fellow Buffs. All levels are welcome, from beginners to experienced artists. All art supplies will be provided. 

Friday, Sept. 29

  10 a.m.–6 p.m.    5761 Ute Highway, Longmont
During this volunteer session, help out Greenwood Wildlife Rehabilitation Center prepare for the busy season. Volunteers will clean animal condos, set up enrichment, and complete other yard work. 

  7–10 p.m.    Rec Center, climbing gym
Enjoy a free night of climbing, challenges and games at the Rec. 

  8 p.m.    CHEM 140 
“No Hard Feelings'” is a 2023 film starring Jennifer Lawrence. During the film, Lawrences’s character gets hired to help bring a 19-year-old boy out of his shell. 

  10–11 p.m.    Fiske Planetarium
Immerse yourself in the music of Pink Floyd and mesmerize your eyes with vibrant colors done by expert laser engineers and a 360-degree wrap around screen. Enjoy best hits like “Another Brick in the Wall (Pt. 1 and Pt. 2),” “Hey You” and more. 

Saturday, Sept. 30

Join the Leeds School of Business for a pregame event, two hours before kickoff. This annual tradition features food, drinks and giveaways. Sko Buffs! 

  7–11 p.m.    The Connection 
Did you know CU has a bowling alley? Friday and Saturday nights feature colored lane lights, black lights and pins—the only “extreme bowling” alley in Boulder, and the lights are striking!
