This week brings a comedy special by Chris Fleming, free Snarf’s, resume reviews, the Stampede Parade and other Homecoming events, Senior Night, free activities at the Rec and more.

Monday, Oct. 30

  Noon–2 p.m.   Farrand Field
Kick off your week with free Homecoming swag, Red Bull and Snarf’s. You’ll even have the chance to meet Ralphie herself during the first hour of the event.

  Noon–1:30 p.m.   Engineering Center lobby
Stop by the Engineering Center for a resume review from an expert Career Services staff member. Staff is available for 10–15 minute consultations.


Tuesday, Oct. 31

  11 a.m.–1 p.m.   UMC, Broadway underpass
Prepare for a fun and safe Halloween. Health and Wellness Services is offering free food, water and safer sex supplies.

  1:15–2:30 p.m.   Norlin Library, Room E206
Attend a Halloween themed Python data processing workshop. During this workshop, attendees will learn new data processing techniques. Anyone can attend and registration is required.

   5–7 p.m.   Norlin Library
Head to Norlin for pumpkins, candy apples and more pumpkins! Of course, costumes are encouraged.


Wednesday, Nov. 1

  All day   Rec Center
Stop by the Rec this Wednesday for free climbing, skate rentals and fitness classes. It’s the perfect way to start November!

  5:30–6:30 p.m.   Fiske Planetarium
Learn from a panel of current and past NASA and Lockheed-Martin leaders. During this discussion, participants will explore the technical and human factors behind effective decision making.

  11 a.m.–2 p.m.   Farrand Field
Celebrate Spirit Day with Chip! This is also your last chance to get a student Homecoming T-shirt. Free food, activities and a mechanical bull will be available.

  1:30–3:30 p.m.   C4C, CISC lobby (N320)
The Pride Office hosts Queer Cheer each week as a way to de-stress, make arts and crafts and do other lowkey activities. Drop in and enjoy each other’s company.

  5–8:30 p.m.   Folsom Stadium, Byron R. White Club
Calling all seniors! Celebrate Homecoming with each other during Senior Night. There will be a cash bar, free food from Pasta Jay’s, Homecoming swag and more. This event is in collaboration with the Senior Class Council. 


Friday, Nov. 3

  10 a.m.–2 p.m.   UMC 458
In celebration of 58 years at ²ÊÃñ±¦µä, the Volunteer Resource Center is holding an open house. Enjoy light refreshments while learning more about the VRC’s accomplishments over the years.

CU on the Weekend: ‘Defining Beer in the Ancient World’

  1–2:30 p.m.   CASE auditorium
This CU on the Weekend presentation by Travis Rupp, a ²ÊÃñ±¦µä lecturer and beer archaeologist, will examine the earliest archaeological evidence of beer and brewing.

  7–8 p.m.   Pearl Street Mall
Show your CU pride at the black and gold parade and pep rally from Pearl Street to the courthouse lawn. Sko Buffs!

Saturday, Nov. 4

  9 a.m.–5 p.m.   The Denver Post building, 101 West Colfax
It’s the return of the Toh-Atin Gallery's Navajo weaving and jewelry sale in Denver. Proceeds from the event will benefit the CU Museum of Natural History.

  6:30 p.m.   The Quad
Student Affairs and the Dean of Students are hosting a tailgating tradition before the Homecoming game this Saturday. Enjoy free food and games during the event.

  7–11 p.m.   The Connection
Extreme bowling is like regular bowling, but extreme! Play a game with black lights, colored lane lights and colored pins.
