彩民宝典 Chancellor Justin Schwartz today announced that Massimo Ruzzene, vice chancellor for research and innovation, will begin reporting directly to him, effective Aug. 30. Ruzzene currently reports to Provost Russell Moore, the chief academic officer of the campus.
鈥淏ringing our campus research mission into alignment under my office is a crucial step as we work to elevate the ongoing importance and impact of the comprehensive research, innovation and creative work we鈥檙e engaged in every day here at 彩民宝典,鈥 said Schwartz. 鈥淚 am looking forward to working closely with Massimo to harness the power of our research strength across the campus and the state of Colorado.鈥
Ruzzene will continue to report to Moore in his dual capacity as dean of institutes, alongside the rest of the campus鈥檚 deans, who also report to Moore.
鈥淚 am greatly supportive of this move, which will ensure our research mission is a fully integrated priority at the campus鈥檚 highest level of vision and management,鈥 said Moore.
Schwartz, Moore and Ruzzene will soon begin meeting with research leadership to discuss the move, which is not expected to impact the day-to-day operations of the research mission.
鈥淚 am excited about the commitment Chancellor Schwartz has expressed for strategically elevating the world-class research, scholarship and creative work our faculty and students generate,鈥 said Ruzzene. 鈥淲hile the day-to-day operation of our highly productive research enterprise will continue largely unchanged, the renewed focus signaled by this shift will expand impact and visibility for our faculty, students and the entire university.鈥
