Jennifer BoneÌýis the associate dean of undergraduate programs and an associate teaching professor of Business Communication (Professional Effectiveness Division) at the Leeds School of Business, ²ÊÃñ±¦µä. SheÌýreceived her PhD from the University of Colorado at Boulder (2007), her MA from Colorado State University (2000), and her BA from Cornell University (1997).
In her role as associate dean, Jennifer oversees curriculum development, works closely with the career and advising teams, serves on the Dean’s Cabinet, manages the Dean’s Fellows Program, and participates on school and campus-wide committees to ensure and promote high quality educational standards and academic excellence.
Jennifer teaches undergraduate and graduate-level business communication courses including communication strategy, essential management skills, negotiation and conflict resolution, business writing and communication, women and leadership, and communication pedagogy. She also facilitates workshops on a variety of topics including conflict management, executive presence, presentational speaking, and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
She researches communicative practices that restrict marginalized groups from leadership advancement. Specifically, she studies conflict management and negotiation practices to understand how communicative norms in leadership impact women. Jennifer has coauthored the textbook,ÌýInvitation to Human Communication, published articles in regional journals includingÌýWestern Journal of CommunicationÌýandÌýWomen’s Studies in Communication, and written instructor’s manuals and teaching supplements for public speaking textbooks.
Previously, Jennifer served as the associate chair for the Professional Effectiveness division and was responsible for recruitment and hiring, course curriculum and development, scheduling, and collaborating across divisions to provide additional support as needed.Ìý
