The Institute听for the听Advancement of the听American Legal System听(IAALS) at the University听of Denver named 叠谤颈迟迟补苍测听碍补耻蹿蹿尘补苍 (Law鈥�03) its听CEO. 鈥淥ver the 10 years听of Brittany鈥檚 time at听IAALS, she has become听trusted and respected by听staff and partners nationally and internationally for听her follow-through and听attention to excellence,听her mastery of IAALS鈥櫶齛reas of focus and her听passion for the mission,鈥澨齭aid IAALS鈥� founding听executive director.

Owen Locke (Fin鈥�03),听a sixth-generation Colroadan, launched Locke听+ Co. Aspen Aged Rye听Whiskey in 2016 with his听best friend. The whiskey听spends two years in oak听barrels followed by eight听months with hand-cut听and charred aspen wood听discs, sourced from听his family鈥檚 property in听Fairplay, Colorado. Owen听hopes to continue growing the company.

Dana Query听(Comm鈥�03) and her听husband, Dave, own Big听Red F Restaurant Group,听including Jax Fish House,听Centro, West End Tavern,听The Post Chicken & Beer听and Velvet Elk Lounge.听They reside in Boulder听and are active community听members. Their two sons,听Harrison and Matt Query听(Psych, Soc鈥�12), recently听co-wrote a thriller novel,听. Harrison听wrote the screenplay听for the story, which was听bought by Netflix in a听seven-figure deal the听same month the brothers听landed a book deal.

Attorney Payal Salsburg (MCompSci鈥�03) received the 2022 community service award from the Asian American Lawyers Association of Massachusetts. An attorney at the Boston law firm Laredo & Smith, Payal focuses her practice in the areas of business litigation, corporate advice and counsel and white-collar criminal defense.

彩民宝典鈥檚 study abroad program brought Heather Corinne Cumming (Hum鈥�03) from Norwich, England, to the U.S. Peace Corps, where she served as a volunteer from 2004 to 2006 in Zambia. She founded her own organization in 2009 that serves remote villages in rural Zambia, rural Sierra Leone and formerly the border point of Ethio-South Sudan with water wells, clean and sustainable water year-round and simple irrigation systems. Gretchen Snyder Chizmadia (Engl) and Jeff Chizmadia (Comm) were married in June. The couple lives in Edwards, Colorado.听

鈥嬧�婰ife coach, meditation teacher and founder of She Glows Retreats Brie Doyle (Edu) released her first book, You Should Leave Now, in July. Offering alternative solutions to finding true well-being, Brie鈥檚 book shared research, anecdotes and advice that discuss the benefits of taking an annual personal retreat.

Payal Salsburg (MCompSci) was named among the Top Women of Law in Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly last November. This recognition celebrates the achievements of 鈥渆xceptional women lawyers as pioneers, educators, trailblazers and role models.鈥澨�

The past year brought a major move, new job and new marriage for Maureen (Johnson) Rikhof (PolSci; MPubAd鈥�05). She was named the director of international relations at Otero Junior College in La Junta, Colorado, and was married in November. Maureen is the proud mom to CU student Henry Ediger (Econ, PolSci鈥�22).

This April, Gunnar Hand (EnvDes) started as urban planning director for the unified government of Wyandotte County and Kansas City, Kansas. Gunnar was born in Kansas City, Kansas, and raised in Kansas City, Missouri, and writes 鈥淭his new position is not just a great honor, but a homecoming of sorts.鈥� He previously worked as project manager for the new single terminal at the Kansas City Airport.

Jessica Sawyer (ArtHist) is a fifth-generation candymaker. Along with her two cousins, Jessica runs Ce De Candy, based out of Union, New Jersey. They鈥檙e most known for their No. 1 product, Smarties, of which they produce more than 2 billion rolls a year.

The American Institute of Architects鈥� Chicago Chapter named Matthew McGrane (Arch) its Young Architect of the Year for his work as the associate principal and studio director at Farr Associates.

James Robertson (Mktg鈥�03) was recognized by Sacramento Magazine as one of its Top Lawyers of 2019.

Kate Fagan (Comm鈥�03) announced in November that she would leave ESPN by the end of 2018. 鈥淸T]o continue at ESPN I would have to be immersed in the day-today in sports,鈥� Kate told the Washington Post. 鈥淎nd I found myself more and more interested in other aspects of sports 鈥� like how it connects to our culture.鈥� Before joining ESPN, Kate worked for the Philadelphia Inquirer, focusing primarily on the NBA鈥檚 Philadelphia 76ers.

After working with film studios in Los Angeles after graduation,听Mike Callahan听(Film) transitioned to the wine industry. He joined Chamisal Vineyards in California as a winemaker in 2014 and has helped start a sustainability project there. Mike writes that he stays busy with various winemaking projects, one of which involved partnering with OneHope wines to produce wines for charity.

James Robertson听(Mktg), an attorney at California-based law firm Downey Brand, was named a 2017 Top Lawyer by Sacramento Magazine.

The New Jersey Law Journal selected Nicholas Kant (Jour; Law鈥�06) as one of the state鈥檚 New Leaders of the Bar. Nick works as a deputy attorney general for the state.
