Hysitron TI 950 Triboindenter

The mechanical properties of surfaces can be investigated by indenting with a probe of known geometry and measuring the resulting force. The Hysitron TI950 Triboindenter at MIMIC includes a number of advanced options beyond quasistatic indentation including DMA, scratch and wear testing and humidity, temperature and submerged sample testing. Precise co-locating of the optical and indenter locations allows for mapping of the sample properties to surface features.
