Festivities will begin at 11 a.m. on the southeast side of our building and Join us as we celebrate our completed expansion and tour the new space while enjoying performances, rehearsals, presentations and refreshments alongside other members of our community. College of Music's Faculty Tuesdays series celebrates 22 years of community-focused music making

As part of the College of Music's long-running Faculty Tuesdays series, professional musicians, vocalists and ensembles in the college play concerts most Tuesdays during the fall and spring semesters, offering students and community members the opportunity to experience firsthand the renowned talent housed right here on campus.

Horn performance + pedagogy student ready for fall after whirlwind spring and summer

Not only did DMA candidate Valerie Sly win Third Horn position with the Des Moines Metro Opera, she also recently nailed the runner-up spot for the Fort Worth Symphony’s Principal Horn position, earned a finalist spot for the United States Navy Band in Washington, D.C. and was invited to return to the Lucerne Festival Academy.

Congratulations! Rebecca Maloy of the College of Music and Roy Parker of Biochemistry and the BioFrontiers Institute have been selected to receive 2021-2022 Distinguished Research Lectureships. Professor of Musicology and Erismann Faculty Fellow, Maloy also serves as director of the Center for Medieval and Early Modern Studies in the College of Arts and Sciences. One of the world’s leading scholars of chant from the Iberian Peninsula, Maloy’s current work examines the Old Hispanic chant of the Iberian Peninsula from historical, liturgical, theological and musicological perspectives.
Our American Music Research Center is breaking ground with its innovative Soundscapes of the People project, a comprehensive research effort in collaboration with local community stakeholders to document, preserve and engage with diverse musical and cultural influences in and around Pueblo, Colorado. The research team aims to address the lack of representation and inclusion in the history of Southern Colorado culture.
