Administrative citations are designed to help reduce and address impacts to safety within our community outside of the criminal justice system. A ticket number that starts with CU-A, also called a Notice of Violation, is issued for violations such as Possessing or Consuming Alcohol by Minors, Fraudulent ID and Noise Violation. These violations are reviewed and adjudicated through the Student Conduct process, not through the municipal court system.
Paying Your Ticket
The fine issued with your ticket will be added to your University bursar’s account and can be paid along with your tuition and fees when your billing statement is received.
Appealing Your Ticket
Students who wish to appeal must go through the Student Conduct resolution process with Student Conduct & Conflict Resolution (SCCR). If the student is found "not responsible" for the violation by SCCR in the resolution process, the fine will be removed by CU Police Records, OR if it has already been transferred to the bursar’s office, a credit will be added to the account.
Record of the ticket remains and may still be visible on certain types of background checks.
