The forum will bring together researchers and research partners in an effort to enhance communication, coordination and collaboration in response to the Boulder County fires that ignited on December 30, 2021. CONVERGE is a NSF-funded initiative headquartered at the Natural Hazards Center at ²ÊÃñ±¦µä.

The AB Nexus program announced its third round of grant awards to faculty at the CU Anschutz Medical Campus and ²ÊÃñ±¦µä, collaborating on innovative research projects that aim to improve human wellbeing through basic science and translational research approaches.

The Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU) has named ²ÊÃñ±¦µä a 2021 Innovation & Economic Prosperity (IEP) awardee. The IEP Innovation Award recognizes exemplary initiatives spurring innovation, entrepreneurship and technology-based economic development.

The new $7.8M facility will be operated under the Colorado Shared Instrumentation in Nanofabrication and Characterization (COSINC)—a multidisciplinary core research facility that provides access to state-of-the-art equipment in micro and nanofabrication, nanomaterials characterization and metrology.

The Research & Innovation Seed Grant program—designed to stimulate new areas of research, scholarship and creativity on the ²ÊÃñ±¦µä campus—is accepting proposals through Wednesday, January 19, 2022. 

²ÊÃñ±¦µä and UN Human Rights have announced plans to co-host the Right Here, Right Now Global Climate Summit in late fall 2022. The summit is designed to engage human rights, scientific, political, educational, cultural and industry leaders to commit to specific goals that will help to slow climate change.

²ÊÃñ±¦µä researchers attracted a record $634.4 million in fiscal year 2021 for studies that, among other things, examine how artificial intelligence can transform education, led to the United Arab Emirate’s Hope spacecraft orbiting Mars, and address threats posed by climate change in the Arctic.

The Ann and H.J. Smead Department of Aerospace Engineering Sciences at the ²ÊÃñ±¦µä has had a record-breaking year for research funding, bringing in $53 million in awards.
