- Victor M. Bright of the Paul M. Rady Department of Mechanical Engineering will deliver his Distinguished Research Lecture “Microscale Sensors and Machines” virtually on Tuesday, November 2 from 4–5 p.m.
- The UAE Space Agency is embarking on a new space mission in collaboration with Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics (LASP) at . The mission will build on the success of the UAE’s ongoing Emirates Mars Mission to visit a much more ambitious target: the asteroid belt.
- The Building Energy Smart Technologies (BEST) Center is a new, five-year multi-university initiative funded by the National Science Foundation to advance sustainable building projects ranging from HVAC manufacturing, to smart glazing for windows, building controls, insulation, as well as solar installations.
- Researchers at will take part in a $25M effort to study a natural resource that’s becoming increasingly in demand: the radio frequency spectrum. SpectrumX will bring together experts from 29 organizations to transform the landscape of spectrum research, education, collaboration and management.

- has received a $2 million gift from The Anschutz Foundation to support the university’s diverse research in aerospace and national defense. The effort dovetails with a new research partnership between the CU system and the U.S. Space Force that was announced Aug. 20.
