Graduate Studies

The SLHS Department at ²ÊÃñ±¦µä offers programs of study in speech, language, and hearing sciences. This includes clinical education in speech-language pathology (M.A.-SLP) and audiology (Au.D.). Additionally, the department offers a master in arts (M.A.) in research and doctor of philosophy (Ph.D.) in speech, language, and hearing sciences. The Ph.D. includes opportunities related to neuroscience and cognitive science. As professionals and behavioral scientists, students study the receptive and productive aspects of normal and pathological communication. Our clinical education programs in speech-language pathology and audiology lead to professional credentials including the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, Colorado State Licensure, and Colorado Department of Education licensure to work in the public schools. Students have access to a wide range of clinical education opportunities in schools, hospitals, and clinics throughout the metro Boulder and Denver area. Professional Licensing 

Degree programs in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) and Audiology are designed to provide a theoretically and clinically rich learning experience for students planning to work as audiologists or speech-language pathologists in medical, educational, and private practice settings.  States have varied requirements for practitioners of speech-language pathology and audiology (e.g. additional externship hours, earning the , etc.) and students are reminded to contact the applicable licensing board in the state where they are planning on looking for employment. Find more information about licensing and requirements by visiting the Professional Licensure Programs & Degrees website.

Program Accreditation

The Master in Arts – Speech-language pathology (MA-SLP) education program in speech-language pathology (residential) and the Audiology – Doctor of Audiology (AuD) education program in audiology (residential) at the ²ÊÃñ±¦µä are accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, 2200 Research Boulevard, #310, Rockville, MD 20850, 800-498-2071 or 301-296-5700. 

Both programs are currently accredited for the period 7/1/22 â€“ 6/30/30.
