UNIVERSITY OF COLORADO HARWOOD SCHOLARSHIP 

  • Incoming graduate student pursuing real estate 
  • $3,000 +/-

JUSTIN BRINDLEY MEMORIAL FELLOWSHIP  

  • Incoming first-year MBA student 
  • Strong academic standing 
  • Preference given to students in the real estate program 
  • $3,000-$5,000, (May vary annually)

GARY A. WOODS FELLOWSHIP 

  • 3.5 GPA minimum 
  • Financial need 
  • Interest in a real estate career

CAPSTONE ADVISORS REAL ESTATE SCHOLARSHIP 

  • Incoming first-year MBA student pursuing real estate

URBAN LAND INSTITUTE BRUCE ETKIN FELLOW

The ULI Bruce Etkin Fellow Program is a two-year program open to second-year MBA students in a real estate discipline at 񱦵. The fellowship is funded through the ULI Foundation with funds donated by Bruce Etkin. 

Benefits include:  

  • Two-year ULI Full Membership with all rights and privileges thereof.
  • Registration to attend ULI semi-annual meetings—Spring Council Forum and the Fall Meeting (including tickets for events)—for two years.
  • Registration to one ULI conference (domestic conferences only) annually for two years.
  • Travel and lodging allowance to the ULI Spring Meeting, Fall Meeting and one domestic conference per year.
  • Admission to a Product Council and its meetings and functions (including Council reception/dinner at the ULI Spring Meeting and Fall Meeting) for two years.
  • In addition, all Fellows are assigned a mentor who will advise and guide them through ULI and the profession.

Eligibility:

  • Second-year MBA student in the real estate program 
  • Good academic standing  
  • Strong involvement in the Real Estate Center and activities 
  • Transcript, 3 essays 
  • Eligible students will be contacted by the Real Estate Center. Deadline to apply is typically April.

External Scholarships 

These are scholarships available to graduate students awarded from industry organizations separate from the university. We have listed general info, but please vist the organizations website for full and accurate information regarding deadlines, application process, etc.

 

NAIOP DIVERSITY STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP 

  • Enrolled in a full-time graduate real estate program 
  • Minimum of a 3.0 GPA 
  • Recommendation letter from real estate instructor or professor 
  • Financial need 
  • Preference given to students of underrepresented minorities in the commercial real estate field 
  • Involvement in NAIOP in the university or chapter level 
  • Commitment to a commercial real estate career 
  • Recipients will be chosen for one $5,000 award each, made payable to the awardee’s university 

Deadline - Application usually open in February for the following academic year award 

COMMERCIAL REAL ESTATE WOMEN (CREW) NATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP 

  • Female or identify as a female
  • Full-time junior, senior or graduate level student 
  • Not a prior recipient of the scholarship 
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA 
  • Focus of study in one of the CREW Network Qualified Fields of Commercial Real Estate (See list here: https://crewnetwork.org/join/qualified-fields-of-commercial-real-estate)  
  • $5,000 for tuition and books 
  • Paid internship opportunity in the summer 
  • Complimentary CREW Network student-at-large membership (for a duration of 24 months)
  • Complimentary registration and travel stipend to the CREW Convention & Marketplace 
  • A six-month mentoring opportunity with a senior leader in commercial real estate

Deadline - Applications generally accepted January – April for the following academic year award 

INSTITUTE OF REAL ESTATE MANAGEMENT (IREM) STUDENT LEADERS

  • Applicant must be a full-time student enrolled during the current academic year, demonstrated academic achievement and are looking to persue a career in real estate management. 
  • Letter of recommendation from a faculty member, school advisor, or IREM member 
  • Complimentary registration to attend IREM’s Global Summit
  • Recognition at the IREM award ceremony held during the conference
  • Hotel accommodations, airfare expenses, incidental expenses / meals up to $250 

Deadline – Usually April submission deadline. Notification in June for the conference in September 

APPRAISAL INSTITUTE EDUCATIONAL TRUST SCHOLARSHIP 

Awarded on the basis of academic excellence, this scholarship helps finance the educational endeavors of undergraduate or graduate students concentrating, or with demonstrated interest, in real estate appraisal and/or valuation.

Deadline – Usually April 1st for the following academic year award

APPRAISAL INSTITUTE EDUCATIONAL TRUST MINORITY & WOMEN EDUCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP  

  • Minorities and women students pursuing academic degrees, or with demonstrated interest, in real estate appraisal and/or valuation.

PREA SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM 

  • In keeping with our educational mission, the Pension Real Estate Association awards scholarships on an annual basis to promising students studying real estate at the undergraduate and graduate levels. These scholarships are awarded through our own scholarship program and financial need is considered in determining the amount of each award. Potential recipients who demonstrate no need will be eligible to receive the minimum award. PREA is also a longstanding corporate donor to the Robert A. Toigo Foundation and their fellowships for minority and women students.

Deadline – Application usually opens in May  

ULI ETKIN STUDENT SCHOLAR PROGRAM: COLORADO SCHOOLS 

The Etkin Student Scholars Program is designed to immerse its participants into the thriving real estate industry in Colorado. From October through April, the participants will attend ULI Colorado events, committees, become volunteers, and network with ULI members to enhance their scholastic endeavors and learn the benefits of ULI membership. 15-25 Colorado students are selected every fall.

  • Students in their 4th year in undergraduate or graduate real estate, business, architecture, planning, and related land use/business/real estate programs at Colorado colleges and universities are eligible to apply. ULI Colorado will select 15-25 students based on completed applications.  Upon successful program completion (one excused absence allowed), each Student Scholar receives a one-year ULI membership with commensurate benefits.

Deadline - Early fall semester 

ULI - REAL ESTATE DIVERSITY INITATIVE (REDI)

Real Estate Diversity Initiative (REDI) is a comprehensive real estate development training and mentorship program for women and people of color. The curriculum covers the spectrum of the real estate development process, including a free pro forma course at the University of Denver. Throughout the program, participants work in small teams with mentors to create a development plan and pro forma for a real local site, which they will present to a “Shark Tank” at the end of the program. Graduates receive a free ULI membership upon successful completion of the program.

INTERNATIONAL COUNCIL OF SHOPPING CENTERS (ICSC) FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS

Requirements for all scholarship applicants:

  • A minimum of a 3.0 GPA (out of a 4.0 scale)
  • Must have a demonstrated interest in the Marketplace Industry—made up of retail real estate shopping centers, malls, main street and mixed-use centers—or  a related field.

Benefits for all scholarship recipients include:

  • A tuition grant
  • An all-expense paid trip to  for U.S. recipients.
  • Pairing with an industry mentor and a spot in the ICSC Foundation’s Mentorship Program
  • A complimentary year-long ICSC student membership

RENEW – REAL ESTATE NETWORK EMPOWERING WOMEN

The mission of RENEW is to inspire, empower and advance women in commercial real estate finance through distinctive programs, networking and scholarship opportunities.

  • Proof of enrollment in an Undergraduate or Graduate program
  • Minimum GPA – 3.0
  • Completed application including certified transcript and letter of recommendation
