Scholarships & Fellowships

The Program in Jewish Studies awards a number of scholarships and fellowships each academic year to ²ÊÃñ±¦µä students. These opportunities provide students with both academic and work experiences that add important experiential components to their education. Undergraduates and graduates can find a variety of opportunities in our full list below.

Barry and Sue Baer Undergraduate Scholarship

The Barry and Sue Baer Undergraduate Scholarship annually supports a promising undergraduate Jewish Studies student who demonstrates academic success, a passion for public service, and scholarship that benefits the public good.

Jewish Studies First-Year & Sophomore Scholarship

Each semester, the Program in Jewish Studies awards a $500 tuition scholarship to a first-year or sophomore student who as declared a Jewish Studies Major or Minor.

Innovations in Jewish Life Collections Undergraduate Fellowship

The Innovations in Jewish Life Collections Undergraduate Fellowship requires 60 hours of research over the semester in the Innovations in Jewish Life Collections housed in the University Libraries Archives.

Barry and Sue Baer Graduate Fellowships

The Barry and Sue Baer Graduate Fellowship supports graduate students from all disciplines and backgrounds as they conduct research, produce creative works, and address scholarly gatherings around the globe.

Goldberger Graduate Fellowships

The Goldberger Graduate Fellowship is granted to one or more students with plans to study or conduct research abroad or participate in a language study or cultural immersion program.

Innovations in Jewish Life Collections Graduate Research Fellowship

The Innovations in Jewish Life Collections Graduate Research Fellowship provides support to a ²ÊÃñ±¦µä graduate student to conduct research in the CU  during the spring semester. The Fellow will work with librarians and archivists to produce an original research paper or project using one or more of the IJL collections.

History - Jewish Studies Archives Summer Fellowship

The History - Jewish Studies Archives Summer Fellowship supports graduate students as they conduct research and work in the Innovations in Jewish Life Collections. Fellows will work with librarians and archivists on projects such as researching, designing, and curating exhibits, digital humanities initiatives, and other programs based on archival materials, as well as conduct their own original research.

The Global Initiative Scholarship supports both undergraduate and graduate students as they pursue study abroad activities, global seminars, language programs, research abroad, and other activities.

Ulrich Goldsmith Memorial Prize in German-Jewish Studies

This is an annual prize awarded to the best paper written by a student on a topic pertaining to any aspect of German-Jewish culture in the pre- or post-World War II period. Open to both undergraduate and graduate students.
